{"id":1134,"date":"2022-08-22T10:47:58","date_gmt":"2022-08-22T14:47:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/prevention.luk.org\/?page_id=1134"},"modified":"2024-07-17T15:47:12","modified_gmt":"2024-07-17T19:47:12","slug":"lift","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/prevention.luk.org\/about\/lift\/","title":{"rendered":"Leadership and Interventions For Transitions (LIFT)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>LIFT (Leadership and Intervention for Transitions)<\/strong> is a partnership between LUK and <a href=\"https:\/\/wms.webster-schools.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Webster Middle School<\/a> to offer additional support to students who are struggling with finding success at school, home, and in the community. In LIFT, students will work with a success coach on identifying personal goals they would like to accomplish. While working with the success coach they will have the opportunity to meet individually during the school day, after school, and during the summer months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some common goals are focused on:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Preventing or reducing substance use<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Time management around school work<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Identifying healthy relationships<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Maintaining positive peer connections<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Life skills<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Developing coping strategies to manage anxiety and depression<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Students will also have the opportunity to participate in therapeutic groups after school as well as attend monthly adventure-based programs in the community (programs including but not limited to fishing, kayaking, rock climbing, and hiking). Success coaches will also be hosting monthly family events and parent information sessions.
