Students Taking a New Direction (STAND)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

STAND is a partnership between LUK and Monty Tech to offer additional support to students. Students will work with a success coach on identifying personal goals they would like to accomplish such as time management around school work, identifying health relationships, reducing\/preventing substance use, managing anxiety and depression, and more. Students have also participated in experiential-based learning opportunities including art group, hiking, rock climbing, geocaching, and others.  Suicide Prevention<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

According to the Centers for Disease Control, in 2017, suicide was the second leading cause of death for people between ages 10-24. Help save lives in your community with QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) training for suicide prevention. Support and Advocacy for Victim Empowerment (SAVE)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

SAVE supports victims of Operating Under the Influence (OUI) crashes and their loved ones. This includes people struck by impaired drivers, passengers, family of a person charged with OUI, a person who has lost a friend of family member to an OUI, and witnesses. Mental Health Awareness Training (MHAT)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Do you know what to do when someone is experiencing a mental health crisis? Students will learn how to respond to someone experiencing panic attacks, suicidal thoughts or behaviors, non-suicidal self-injury, overdose or withdrawal, reaction to traumatic events.
