Art Contest

LUK Prevention hosts an annual art contest for local youth (ages 10-18) around substance use prevention through the use of art as a means of expression and coping.

We are currently accepting submissions for our Spring 2023 art contest until March 3, 2023.

Submission Guidelines:
  • Create a 2D work of art 8×10″ or smaller focused on the theme “What are some alternatives to using substances?”
  • Artwork will include a paragraph explaining your artwork, this will be your artist statement.
  • Submissions must include an art contest consent form completed with a caretaker, if applicable.
  • Submit your art, consent form, and artist statement to ArtContest@LUK.org by March 3, 2023.

Things to Keep in Mind:
  • Artworks will be selected based on appropriateness for theme. Selected artworks will be displayed on LUK, Inc. social media and at a local gallery.
  • Submissions must include completed consent forms, with a caretaker, if applicable. To download LUK’s consent form, click here.
  • LUK Prevention maintains the right to determine which works of art are appropriate for this contest. Any subject matter that is highly controversial, items, symbols, or themes that may represent racism, prejudice, profanity, or of a violent or lewd nature are not appropriate.
  • Winners will be notified following the end of submissions. Three cash prizes are available, $150 (1st place), $75 (2nd place), $25 (3rd place).
  • It is important that substance use prevention is done without stigmatizing individuals with substance use disorder. Learn more about staying mindful here.

  • Now- March 3, 2023: Entries are accepted
